Cloud Platform

As part of Core Engineering at Goldman Sachs, the Cloud Platform team is responsible for enabling the use of public cloud services across the firm. You will be working as part of multi-disciplinary team responsible for researching, architecting and building a cutting-edge platform that enable Goldman Sachs teams to deploy and manage services in public cloud safely and securely. We are at an early stage of modernizing our services around cloud native principles, and you will be directly contributing to platform that programmatically enforces safety, security and compliance of services and enables engineers to innovate faster.

Responsibilities And Qualifications:

As part of Core Engineering at Goldman Sachs, the Cloud Platform team enables the safe and secure use of public cloud services across the firm. In this Vice President Technical Product Manager role, you will own the forward-looking strategy and product direction for the firm's specialized cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and Google Cloud Platform). You will work in a multi-disciplinary, DevOps-oriented environment to define customer-centric platform capabilities that programmatically enforce safety, security, resiliency, and compliance, allowing engineering teams to expedite cloud adoption. You must have a proficient understanding of cloud deployment strategies, software development practices, and risk management, with extensive experience in product management,

Key Responsibilities:



  • Set product vision and strategy for specialized cloud platforms by aligning client requirements and objectives to a platform 'North Star' and socialize a roadmap of reaching this goal
  • Define a clear, multi-quarter roadmap of platform capabilities, detailing known constrains and potential impediments.
  • Create "working backwards" artifacts (e.g., strategy memos, customer narratives, problem statements, success metrics) that align stakeholders on the why, what, and how of the platform offerings.
  • Solicit and prioritize customer needs by partnering closely with engineering teams migrating workloads to public cloud, and by incorporating feedback into an outcome-driven roadmap
  • Partner with engineering, security, and relevant risk/compliance stakeholders to define turn-key, scalable, compliant, and performant solutions that accelerate adoption of Azure, Oracle, and Google cloud services
  • Drive technical and architectural decision-making by facilitating cross-organization discussions
  • Advocate best practices for public cloud application development and cloud-native modernization across the firm through guidance, standards, and repeatable platform patterns.
  • Engage cloud providers (Microsoft, Oracle, Google) to influence and enhance their offerings to meet the firm's and the finance industry's requirements.
  • Define and inspect product success metrics (e.g., adoption, time-to-onboard, reliability/operational stability outcomes), and continuously iterate the platform offerings across the full lifecycle.



Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, plus 5+ years of relevant professional experience in technical product management and/or cloud platform roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to own a platform product roadmap end-to-end, including requirements definition, prioritization, stakeholder alignment, and lifecycle management.
  • Strong technical fluency with at least one major public cloud provider, and familiarity with the concepts and constraints of deploying and operating services on public cloud platforms.
  • Working knowledge of security, resiliency, and high availability principles for cloud-native services, and the ability to reason about performance and process interactions in distributed systems.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced global environment.
  • Ability to independently deliver on Product Roadmap, Operational Stability and Execution Strategy.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Prior product ownership of internal developer platforms or cloud enablement capabilities that enforce security, isolation, and multi-tenant patterns at scale.
  • Awareness of regulatory requirements in Financial Services related to third party outsourcing.
  • Understanding of cloud network architectures and integration with hybrid cloud networking in enterprise environments.
  • Depth in one or more of Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, or Google Cloud Platform, especially in regulated or security-sensitive environments.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tooling, including CI/CD concepts and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Formation, Bicep, CDKs), sufficient to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.



Salary Range

The expected base salary for this Seattle, WA, United States-based position is $115,000 - $250,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
