Heavy Equipment Operator I 3rd Shift

Covia is looking for a dynamic Heavy Equipment Operator who will have a positive impact on the Operations team at its Junction City, GA location. This position will primarily operate an end loader, but the operator must be capable of running additional equipment and performing general site duties as needed. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-minded, and flexible to assist where required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate end loader safely and efficiently (primary equipment)
• Operate excavator, dozer, and other heavy equipment as needed
• Perform site cleanup, material handling, and general labor duties
• Conduct basic equipment inspections and routine maintenance checks
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Work closely with supervisors and other crew members to meet jobsite goals
• Complete other duties as necessary to support daily operations
• Cross training in other processes
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Prior experience operating heavy equipment (end loader required)
• Experience with excavator and dozer preferred
• Strong understanding of jobsite safety practices
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Valid driver's license required
• MSHA certification a plus

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to climb in and out of equipment safely
• Ability to work off shift hours as required
• Capable of working outdoors in varied conditions
