The Facility Manager is responsible for all day-to-day operations, including maintenance, occupant/owner relations, budgeting, capital planning, reporting, project management, emergency planning and long-term planning of the IFM strategy. The Facility Manger will have direct report responsibilities for members of the extended Colliers team dedicated to this client account. The Facility Manager will be responsible for vendor relationships, workflow administration, fiduciary duties, compliance with federal, state, local regulations and risk management standards, reporting and maintaining other critical stakeholder relationships.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement building maintenance and operational programs to ensure efficiency and reliability of systems while maintaining best-in-class operations for client's portfolio.
  • Manage vendor contracts, from the inception of bid process through transition and routine interaction as the scope of work is performed.
  • Oversee coordination / implementation of life-safety, energy management, and site safety programs.
  • Create, implement, and control the annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Perform building inspections as necessary.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute projects within portfolio as necessary.
  • Interact with building occupants and client leaders.
  • Oversee accounting functions; prepare monthly reports to owner including reconciliation of accounts, preparation of budget variance narratives, etc.
  • Develop and manage processes to ensure all elements of safety and compliance programs are maintained.
  • Promote and foster positive relationships with clients and other critical stakeholder

relationships.

  • Understand and follow all Colliers / Client policies and procedures.
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Five years professional experience in facilities management, construction management, or commercial buildings.
  • BS/BA degree from a university or college accredited through a Regional Accrediting Association. RPA, CPM, or CFM designation preferred.
  • Demonstrated operational success in managing maintenance operations and vendor services.
  • Prior experience leading/managing direct reports.
  • Experience supporting remote managed locations, corporate headquarters, and/or regulated environments a plus.
  • Proven financial and accounting knowledge and abilities.
  • Superior organizational and communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills, with strong attention to high standards of customer service and negotiating sensitive management issues.
  • Proficient computer and administrative skills.
  • Ability to grow as the scope of the position increases.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and a criminal background check.
  • Ability to travel among portfolio as required.
