Position Summary

The Parker Supply Cain Internship Program develops emerging talent through handson exposure to Supply Chain. In this internship, incumbents will get exposure to end-to-end materials flow in a manufacturing environment, collaborating with planning, purchasing, production, logistics, and quality to ensure on-time delivery and optimized inventory. This internship will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, pull and analyze data usings KPI dashboards and reports, and helps identify risks and mitigation actions across the supply base and logistics network. This paid internship includes measurable goals and mentorship and serves as a potential pathway to our Supply Chain Leadership Development program or direct hire opportunities.

Responsibilities

Through guidance of Supply Chain Leadership, the Supply Chain Intern will learn and perform various aspects of the function by:

  • Collaborating with various Parker teams, including customer service, engineering, accounting, quality, and marketing to support cross-functional initiatives.

  • Observing work assignments performed by others and actively participate in hands-on projects and/or special assignments.

  • Maintaining communication with program coach/mentor to provide feedback on departmental assignments and program improvements.

  • Prepare and analyze timely reports summarizing business activities and project statuses to support informed decision-making.

  • Prioritize tasks effectively, meet commitments, and take proactive ownership of challenges while providing excellent customer service.

  • Attend related training and apply it in work assignments.


Qualifications

Education

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain or Industrial Systems Engineering or related fields. Preferrable junior class status.

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.

Skills/Experience

  • Desire to working in a manufacturing environment.

  • Leadership desire and experience demonstrated through roles in class, student organizations, work or internships, or extracurricular activities.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Excellent computer skills, and experience using Power BI & database reporting software.

  • Able to work with minimal supervision and instructions regarding the scope of assignments and determine priority. Must be an innovator and embrace lean enterprises principles and practices

  • Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper automation opportunities.

  • Geographic mobility preferred.
