Genesis10 is currently seeking an IT Security Specialist - Cloud Architecture for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC, Pennington, NJ and Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. As a member of the engineering team, this role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and socializing the infrastructure strategy and design for a global engineering division. The architect will have end-to-end accountability for technology design, engineering, implementation, DevOps, and support for critical business platforms that handle large transaction volumes and complex designs. Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and manage infrastructure solutions for Cloud infrastructure utilizing both on-prem (Private) and off-prem (Public) infrastructure
- Partner with the client's internal architecture team to define design patterns to meet Active/Active resiliency
- Define data solutions for ingress and egress, including hybrid options
- Develop deployment solutions for CI/CD (primarily CD)
- Design for multiple regions, availability zones, storage, and network integration
- Partner with internal teams to set up appropriate access groups and restrictions
- Ensure all regulatory and compliance measures are met
- Monitor and assist with performance tuning
- Partner with Engineering, developers, and stakeholders to align strategies to the modernization of the stack
Requirements:
- 3 - 5 years of experience in designing and engineering solutions for large business capabilities, with expertise in Payment and Merchant Services capabilities
- Expert experience and knowledge in the design and engineering of applications hosted at external clouds such as Azure and AWS
- Effective communication with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely
- Ability to lead and actively participate in conference calls with technical and business users
- Flexible to work in different shifts, including rotational night shifts and weekend support
- Experience in Application Lifecycle Management Automation tools and integration using one or more of the following: Ansible by Red Hat, Jenkins, or XLR
- Working knowledge/expertise with JIRA, NEXUS, and ALM (Application Lifecycle Management)
- Exposure and familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies (Agile)
- Must be self-motivated, independent, detail-oriented, able to work with little supervision, and a responsible team player
- Willing and able to work in a 24x7 environment, including after-hours and weekend support for multiple time zones
- Computer networking skills and working knowledge: Load balancers, firewall, etc
- Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Communication, Information Technology, or equivalent education
- Understanding/experience with web application communication protocols - SOAP, HTTP, XML, etc
- Working knowledge of application setup, support, and configuration
Desired skills:
- AWS certification (preferred), Azure certification (secondary), Google (nice to have)
- DevOps (Terraform, Infrastructure as Code) and API design experience
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Multiple years of demonstrated experience in Systems Administration or Systems Engineering
- 2+ years in a technical position using Cloud technologies
- Knowledge of Oracle and/or SQL databases
- Linux (RHEL, CentOS) experience
- Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies across Windows and Linux, with hands-on experience on Azure Core Platform (Compute, Storage, Networking)
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, and logging tools, and build/release processes
