Job Description

Provide Senior Project Level leadership, for the advancement of the HRCG Health & Safety Program with the objective of advancing incident and injury free workplace Ensure project teams are meeting or exceeding the requirements of the Project Safety Manual. Create an IIF safety culture by conducting coaching and mentoring of staff and trades. Act as lead safety interface between client and stakeholders. Leads investigation of incidents, injuries, and near misses ensuring reports are completed and documentation retained. Work closely with Vice President of Safety to develop strategic objectives for safety; to include training needs and project safety protocols. Utilize leading indicators and innovative solutions to proactively stem incidents before they occur, measure results. To include implementation of project safety manual, trade safety management plans, and regulatory compliance. Subject Expert in regulatory matters. Assist in developing and communicating best practices; lead continuous improvement to reduce injury risk and raise safety awareness. Lead/organize Stand-down, weekly safety meetings, serious incident reviews. Monitor operations to ensure high risk activities adhere to proper controls. Identify and track completion of action items generated via site camera, observations, or reports.

Responsibilities and Duties:



  • Assist the Vice President of Safety in the maintenance of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with client, local, state and / or federal safety laws and rules.
  • Serves as the principle technical advisor to the line organization on matters of
  • Conducts jobsite inspections of Metropolitan Park projects via safety stratus.
  • Participates in safety meetings with the subcontractors, HRCG staff, and client.
  • Lead incident investigations utilizing Root Cause Analysis techniques.
  • Review proposals, specifications and bidding documents for compliance with project expectations.
  • Manage a project incident and injury log for HRCG and
  • Participate in local and professional safety
  • Plans and provide training and other technical support services to project teams to include crane/rigging drawings, precast concrete, post tensioning, site utility connections MTA coordination, and site safety plans.
  • Assist Vice President of Safety in Coordinating IIF training for staff and
  • Provide set up, training and assistance with Safety Stratus.
  • Assist in coordination with regulatory inspections.



Required Skills/Licenses/Certificates



  • Strategic thinking and leadership skills
  • Ability to build trust and confidence with management and field personnel
  • Ability to communicate with employees at all
  • NYC DOB Site Safety Supervisor 62 hours
  • Working knowledge of applicable regulations OSHA, NYC DOB, DEP
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • A minimum of 15 years construction safety experience with 5 years' experience in NYC high rise construction.
  • NYC DOB SSM license and FDNY C of F Construction Site Fire Safety Manager (S-56).
  • Experience with post-tension and precast concrete operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including word, excel, and power point.
  • Preferred certifications: CSP, ASP, CHST, Certified OSHA 500.
  • Experience with crisis management and root cause analysis



* Physical Demands & Working Conditions The overall nature of the positions requires light physical exertion with minimal physical effort frequently required. There is constant exposure to environmental noises and hazards, frequent exposure to cold, heat, temperature changes and wet conditions, and occasional exposure to humidity and other atmospheric conditions. The constant physical demands are talking and hearing. The frequent physical demands are repetitive hand motions. Occasional physical demands are standing, walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, etc. Prolonged periods of standing and//or sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to walk and climb stairs and / or ladders.

Salary Range : 180,000-210,000

The above salary range represents Hunter Roberts's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible base compensation range at the time of posting and is one part of the total rewards Hunter Roberts provides to employees.
