Summary/Objective:

The Supply Chain Planner will be responsible for planning and coordinating the flow of goods, inventory, and resources to meet Demand efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Demand Forecasting: Develop accurate forecasts based on historical sales, market trends, and business inputs.
  2. Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to avoid stockouts or overstocking.
  3. Production Planning: Coordinate production schedules to align with demand forecasts and inventory needs.
  4. Supplier Coordination: Work with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components.
  5. Logistics Planning: Collaborate with logistics teams to optimize the flow of goods throughout the supply chain.
  6. Performance Monitoring: Track key supply chain metrics (e.g., service levels, inventory turnover) and identify areas for improvement.
  7. Risk Management: Identify potential disruptions and create contingency plans to minimize their impact.
  8. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with procurement, sales, marketing, and operations teams to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  9. Software Utilization: Use supply chain and planning tools like SAP, Oracle, or other planning systems to optimize workflows and simulate scenarios.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily working indoors, office environment.
  • May sit for several hours at a time.
  • Prolonged exposure to computer screens.
  • Repetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers, and copiers.

Qualifications:

  1. Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel (including advanced functions), Power BI, or Tableau.
  2. Experience with ERP systems and forecasting tools.
  3. Knowledge of supply chain concepts such as MRP (Material Requirements Planning), DRP (Distribution Requirements Planning), and S&OP processes.
  4. APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) (Preferred but not required).

Essential Functions:

  1. Developing and Managing Forecasts: Create and maintain accurate demand forecasts to align supply with business needs.
  2. Inventory Optimization: Monitor and control inventory levels to meet service goals while minimizing costs.
  3. Production Scheduling: Plan production activities to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  4. Supplier and Logistics Coordination: Work with suppliers and logistics teams to ensure smooth flow of materials and finished products.
  5. Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze supply chain performance metrics to identify and resolve issues efficiently.

Competencies:

  1. Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret complex data, analyze trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize supply chain performance.
  2. Forecasting and Planning Skills: Proficiency in demand planning, inventory management, and production scheduling to balance supply and demand effectively.
  3. Communication and Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally with procurement, logistics, sales, and other teams.
  4. Problem-Solving: Capacity to identify supply chain bottlenecks or disruptions and implement practical solutions quickly.
  5. Attention to Detail: Precision in managing forecasts, inventory levels, and supply chain processes to avoid errors.
  6. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with supply chain software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDA) and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
  7. Adaptability: Flexibility to respond to changing market conditions, customer needs, or unexpected disruptions.
  8. Decision-Making: Confidence and skill in making decisions under uncertainty while balancing competing priorities.
  9. Project Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
  10. Customer Focus: Understanding the importance of meeting customer requirements and aligning supply chain activities to enhance satisfaction.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This role will not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time salary position.

Travel:

Travel potentially up to 20% of the time.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.
  2. A Master's degree or MBA (preferred, but not always required).
  3. 2-5 years of experience in supply chain planning, inventory management, logistics, or related fields.
  4. Proven track record of working with supply chain planning software.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

Must be authorized to work in the United States.
