The Research Associate II will perform routine experimental work to support assay development, technical operations, and the Microbiology laboratory. The ideal candidate is a motivated, detailoriented selfstarter with experience in microbiology, biochemistry, and/or molecular biology. This role may reside within assay development, the Microbiology laboratory, or technical operations depending on business needs. The position contributes directly to advancing the company's innovative clinical microbiology technologies toward commercialization. This position is located in Tucson, Arizona.



Responsibilities

Please note this is an onsite opportunity located at our Tucson, AZ facilities.

    Ensure compliance with all laboratory safety policies and procedures.
  • Work crossfunctionally to perform experiments supporting assay development, technical operations, and microbiology laboratory needs.
  • Participate in data reviews with crossfunctional teams within or outside R&D.
  • Assist senior team members with data compilation, documentation, and reporting.
  • Execute experiments on laboratory instrumentation (e.g., Bruker microbiology systems, blood culture platforms, identification and susceptibility systems) following appropriate training.
  • Perform conventional bacterial culture-based testing using molecular, biochemical, or microbiological methods after proper training.
  • Contribute to experimental design for assay development and/or technical operations.
  • Organize and execute experimental tasks in accordance with study protocols.
  • Provide daytoday guidance to junior Research Associates to support successful execution of lab activities.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and support technical investigations related to experimental workflows.
  • Manage laboratory workflows including record keeping, reagent preparation, inventory, and quality control testing.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in microbiology, Molecular Biology, or a related life sciences field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant laboratory experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer skills including Windows, Word, Excel, JMP, and PowerPoint
  • Detailed understanding of Bruker Microbiology products and commercial assays
  • Excellent aseptic technique and good organizational skills
  • Experience in the field of Microbiology culture and testing
  • Ability to gain clarity by information seeking when needed
  • Ability to organize tasks in lab
  • Experience with routine lab techniques and procedures
  • Ability to work in cross functional team environment
  • Experience working within a design control environment is desirable
  • Works well within a team environment

At Bruker, the base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between 54,000.00 and 86,500.00 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on several job-related factors, including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge, and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits, including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
