Summary:

The outpatient Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) clinics serve a diverse patient population with neurological, musculoskeletal, and complex medical rehabilitation needs, including but not limited to stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, chronic pain syndromes, sports and orthopedic injuries, degenerative conditions, and long-term COVID Recovery population.

It is a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment, with a strong focus on clinical excellence, continuity of care, and patient engagement. Clinic may include specialty programs such as spine care, multidisciplinary clinic including spina bifida, cerebral palsy, limb clinic, neurorehabilitation, pain management, prosthetics and orthotics, wound care, and post-acute follow-up care.

The Practice Manager plays a key role in ensuring consistent clinical standards and optimizing the patient experience across all outpatient rehabilitation services.

Responsibilities:

-Lead nursing practice across outpatient clinic setting, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, and scope of practice.

-Ensure safe, effective, and coordinated care in the ambulatory setting including triage, patient education, and promote continuity of care with the interdisciplinary team.

-Monitor and improve clinical quality metrics, patient outcomes. Lead quality improvement initiatives.

-Directly supervise nursing and clinical support staff and provide coaching, competency, and ongoing education to support quality clinical practice.

-Strong leadership and staff development skills, commitment to patient centered, team-based care.

-Assist in budget development and manage departmental expenses.

-Analyze operational data along with access center to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

- Facilitate referrals, prior authorizations, and scheduling for diagnostic testing and specialty services.

- Support clinical flow by collaborating with administrative and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient throughput.

- Support clinical staff to prepare patients for clinical visits, procedures, and interventions performed in the PM&R clinic (e.g., injections, baclofen pump management, EMG preparation, spasticity management).

- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.

- Address patient concerns and service recovery in a timely and professional manner.

Education Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree (BSN) preferred.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
* RN NC LIC;BCLS
Professional Experience Requirements:
* Three years nursing experience with at least one year in a medical office or outpatient setting. 2 years previous supervisory experience required.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
* Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical information and technical procedures. Ability to document clinical information. Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from patients, physicians, family members and staff. Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
