Job Summary
#CA-SS The primary objective of this position is the maintenance and care of the surgical, robotic and Anatomy Labs located at Aggie Square. This includes general cleaning and disinfection of the lab spaces; set-up for surgical training labs- including the receiving and shipping of equipment, set-up of surgical instrumentation; working with anatomy faculty for anatomy courses, including the set up cadaveric specimens, maintenance of cadaveric specimens, anatomic models and other teaching aides; work with the Director and other staff to manage chemical inventories, PPE inventories, and instrumentation inventories; maintenance and care of the lab equipment, including anatomy tables, surgical tables, electric and battery powered instruments, storage; chemical solution creation and waste management, chemical storage and safety, inventory, care and transport of human anatomic specimens, medical and general waste disposal; maintenance of robotics and models labs; maintenance of storage and didactic areas, other duties as assigned Apply By Date April 25, 2026 at 11:59PM Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program

- Ability to communicate effectively with students and the general community regarding the use of cadavers and cadaveric materials

- Demonstrated computer skills to use database, spreadsheet and word programs
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Knowledge of appropriate anatomy, biology, and chemistry for embalming, disarticulation and skeletonization procedures.
- Skill in setting priorities, which accurately reflect the relative importance of job duties.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a Coroner's office, anatomy lab, operating room or funeral home embalming room preferred
- 2 years of Funeral Service Education, medical school or anatomy preferred
- Knowledge of PC/MAC, Adobe, MS Office
- Knowledge of applicable State and Federal laws governing Funeral and Cemeteries, Cal-OSHA, Business and Professions code, Code of Regulations, Whole Body and Organ Donation, Illness and Injury Prevention, Death Registration, Health and Safety.
- Knowledge of the following: Blood borne pathogens, Exposure control plan, Laboratory/Prep room requirements, Formaldehyde monitoring, Hazardous chemicals- handling and storage, Emergency Plan, Respiratory Protection

Department Overview Anatomical Support Services overseas the Body Donation Program, the anatomy lab and the surgical skills suites within Aggie Square. It is responsible for the registration, receipt, preparation, allocation, return and disposition of human donors. The anatomy lab utilizes human cadavers and human anatomical specimens for the teaching of medical students. The surgical skills lab suites will utilize human cadavers and materials for education and research events. The department is responsible for the care and maintenance of human cadaveric specimens, including the receipt, preparation, return, cremation and disposition of human anatomical specimens.
