This is an unparalleled opportunity to profoundly impact how essential professionals deliver care, transforming complex systems into intuitive, efficient experiences. Your expertise will directly influence strategic decisions that enhance operational effectiveness and redefine user journeys within a rapidly evolving clinical landscape

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be authorized to work in the United States
  • Not require sponsorship of any kind for the duration of the assignment
  • Be able to work on a W-2 basis. C2C or 1099 is not permitted for this position

About the Company:

Aquent is proud to partner with a leading healthcare enterprise, specifically within its growing clinical technology division. This dedicated team is focused on developing and optimizing systems that support care managers, analysts, and medical professionals in serving members. The culture thrives on collaboration, strategic thinking, and a commitment to deep discovery to solve complex problems. Operating at a steady pace, the team prioritizes finding the right solutions over rushing, fostering an environment where individuals comfortable with ambiguity can truly excel. This role offers the chance to integrate with a broader team of strategists and designers, contributing to overarching user journey mapping initiatives.

About the Role and Your Impact:

Step into a pivotal role where your strategic insights and design expertise will directly influence the future of critical technology solutions. As a Service Designer, you will embark on deep discovery work, meticulously mapping how key user groups interact with various complex internal systems. Your end-to-end journey mapping, blueprinting, and persona development will not only uncover pain points but also identify strategic opportunities for significant improvement and potential platform consolidation. This is more than a design role; it's an opportunity to inform crucial decisions about system enhancements versus the development of new strategic platforms, directly impacting the efficiency and effectiveness of vital operations. Your work will lay the foundation for innovative solutions, making a tangible difference in the daily lives of professionals and, ultimately, the members they serve.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead comprehensive discovery efforts to understand how critical professionals utilize various complex internal systems for their daily tasks.
  • Conduct in-depth research, including persona development, journey mapping, and service blueprinting, to document end-to-end user interactions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather feedback and direction, identifying pain points and strategic opportunities.
  • Analyze existing system limitations and advocate for strategic decisions regarding system enhancements or the development of new platforms.
  • Contribute insights that help determine the feasibility and impact of improving existing solutions versus creating a new strategic platform.
  • Integrate findings and strategies with other designers and strategists working on broader end-to-end user journeys.
  • Potentially support UI design activities if the strategic direction leads to the development of a new platform.

Must-Haves:

  • Background in healthcare or insurance, especially understanding complex processes.
  • Proven experience in early UX activities, including user research, persona development, journey mapping, and service blueprinting.
  • Demonstrated strategic and research-minded approach to complex problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and driving discovery without predefined solutions.
  • Experience with end-to-end design processes, from discovery to potential UI implementation.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders and present findings.
  • Proficiency in responsive web design principles.
  • Portfolio showcasing deep discovery work, strategic thinking, and complex system design.
  • Experience with enterprise-level systems.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $60.00 to $70.00 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location
