THE POSITION

Step into a role where your clinical expertise fuels meaningful change! Fayette County Behavioral Health Administration has an immediate opening for a Clinical Care Reviewer. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support individuals in need of psychiatric, behavioral health, as well as drug and alcohol treatment services. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clinical Care Reviewer, you will be responsible for gathering essential demographic and clinical information by phone to authorize services and make appropriate referrals to licensed mental health and addiction professionals. You will be guiding consumers through their benefits, treatment options, the managed care system, and available community resources while maintaining accurate, timely documentation in automated systems and client records. Work also involves reviewing the medical appropriateness of behavioral health and substance use cases and, in consultation with a supervisor, issuing certification decisions.

As a key advocate for consumers and families, you will coordinate care with other care managers, complete referral and case documentation, conduct follow-ups with consumers and providers, and participate in customer service assessment activities. You will also prepare required reports in accordance with federal, state, and county guidelines. The role offers opportunities for ongoing professional development through clinical rounds, seminars, and training sessions to maintain licensure and clinical credentials.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of professional mental health clinical experience and possession of an active license to practice as a Registered Nurse issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing; or
  • A master's degree in social work, psychology, nursing, or counseling and two years of professional mental health clinical experience.

  • This position requires an active license issued by the Pennsylvania Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs in one of the following areas:
