The Courier Services Dispatcher will coordinate and oversee the daily operations of courier services including the transport of specimens, pharmacy items, supplies and shuttle services for patients and visitors while utilizing logistics software and routing tools to ensure timely, efficient, and safe transportation across all services. The Courier Services Dispatcher will also oversee all patient parking areas to include access control systems, guest and special event parking, enforcement, cleanliness and shuttle operations for patients and visitors.

Essential Job Statements

Coordinate and dispatch courier routes for specimen delivery, pharmacy distribution, medical supply transport and interdepartmental deliveries

Manage daily shuttle services operations, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs for patients, families and visitors

Monitor courier and shuttle activity in real-time using logistics software and GPS tracking tools

Optimize routes and schedules to improve efficiency, reduce costs and maintain service quality

Respond to on-demand and priority delivery requests, adjusting routes and schedules as needed

Communicates effectively with drivers, staff and vendors to ensure seamless coordination

Maintain accurate logs of transportation activities, delivery confirmations, delays and incidents

Support compliance with safety, confidentiality and infection control standards

Escalate operational issues to leadership when necessary and contribute to process improvements

Employment Qualifications

Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education: Associate's degree in business administration, Logistics, Healthcare Administration or a related field.

Licensing/ Certification

Licensure/Certification Required: Possess/maintain a valid, non-restricted driver's license with a neutral or positive driver point balance.

Licensure/Certification Preferred: N/A

Minimum Qualifications

Years and Type of Required Experience: 6 months of experience in dispatch, transportation logistics, or related field- preferably in healthcare or courier services

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: N/A

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: Strong knowledge of geographic area and traffic patterns. Proficient in using dispatching software

Working Conditions: Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. General office environment. May be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse. May have periods of constant interruptions.

Prolonged periods of working alone.
