Associate Merchandise Planner Work Model: Hybrid - 2 days/week on-site (Tuesday & Wednesday). July is "work from anywhere" month. About the Team Planning, forecasting, and allocating products are essential first steps in bringing products to clients. Our inventory management professionals are analytical, strategic, and results-driven, collaborating with brand partners to forecast behavior and optimize inventory across our network. Operations and logistics teams then ensure our products reach clients with speed and accuracy in a dynamic, fast-growing marketplace. Job Summary: As an Associate Merchandise Planner, you will manage Brand Planning for both pre-season and in-season timeframes to ensure SKU in-stock levels and Days on Hand (DOH) targets are achieved. Reporting to the Sr Merchandise Planner, you will serve as the financial partner to the Merchant to help drive and grow the business. Duties & Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities & Time Allocation * Create pre-season Brand Budget Plans in partnership with Inventory Directors, Merchants, and Vendors - 10% * Develop strategies for new brands, including projected sales, SKU-level inventory needs, and order flow for launch timelines - 20% * Own monthly Open-to-Buy (OTB) including sales, GM%, receipts, and inventory adjustments; reconcile OTB with Demand Planning system forecasts; present at cross-functional monthly OTB meetings - 20% * Partner with Demand Planning on forecast alignment and strategy - 5% * Guide Merchandise Planning Assistants to prioritize key orders, communicate delays, and support newness launches - 5% * Conduct analytics: validate sales and inventory for key initiatives, animations, promotions, and seasonal hindsight assessments - 15% * Develop liquidation strategies for exit brands, collections, and overstock - 5% * Communicate consistently with vendors on sales performance, in-stocks, and outstanding issues - 10% * Validate assortments by analyzing presentation, discontinuations, and development needs in collaboration with Merchandising - 10% Working Conditions: * Primarily sedentary with occasional movement for meetings and collaboration. * Standard home/office environment with minimal exposure to adverse conditions. * Occasional evening/weekend work for deadlines or critical issues. * Potential on-call duties for urgent needs. * Limited travel as requested by Sr leadership. Qualifications: Experience- * 4+ years of Planning experience Education * Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance/Business, or related field (preferred). Competencies & Skills * Strong technical proficiency in MS Office (Excel and Word). * Ability to provide innovative solutions to merchandising, operations, and finance challenges. * Proven skill in synthesizing data for actionable business decisions. * Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and task-management abilities. * Clear written and verbal communication; strong presentation skills. * Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and analytical aptitude. * Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
