ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP is looking for a Solar Solutions Intern to join our team. The Solar Solutions Intern will perform or assist in typical responsibilities assigned to Solar Solutions Engineers. The intern will work closely with an assigned mentor and report directly to the Sr. Manager, Solar Solutions assigned to them, and will become familiar with other duties associated with project development and implementation.

The essential functions of the position include:

The Solar Solutions Intern will become most familiar with Solar responsibilities and will be assigned tasks to perform or assist in analyses and development of solar and battery storage projects. The Solar Solutions Intern will also participate in construction management, where opportunities arise. The following breakdown of duties is intended to be an approximation of time spent over a typical work week:



  • 25% - Support data collection, analysis, and reporting for ongoing solar projects and performance metrics.
  • 15% - Assist with preparing presentations, summaries, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • 15% - Help maintain project tracking tools, dashboards, schedules, and documentation repositories.
  • 10% - Conduct research on solar technologies, market trends, regulatory updates, and competitive benchmarking.
  • 10% - Provide support for feasibility studies, site assessments, and preliminary system modeling.
  • 10% - Coordinate with cross-functional teams (engineering, procurement, operations, ESG reporting) to gather needed information.
  • 10% - Assist in reviewing vendor proposals, equipment specifications, and project estimates.
  • 5% - Contribute to ESG and sustainability reporting by organizing data and validating accuracy.


Your background includes:



  • Going into junior or senior level standing at an accredited institution studying some form of engineering, business, law, finance, math, or related field.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
  • Good work ethic.
  • Communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  • At least 10 consecutive weeks of uninterrupted availability to work 40 hours a week.
  • Substantial interest in one of ESG's fields - sustainability, lighting systems, utility expense reduction, renewables (solar, landfill gas, etc.)
