We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager to join our growing team!

JOB SUMMARY

The Business Development Manager is responsible for the sale of the organization's services in a specified region; using technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to influence clients and assist them in applying Certified Laboratories services to their needs resulting in revenue generation. The Business Development Manager also provides input and participates in the marketing, market planning, event execution, and technical development of services.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Consistently meet established sales quotas and revenue goals.
  • Provide sales forecasting and planning.
  • Work with the Business Development Director to develop sales and marketing strategy by determining client needs and goals for company services using available CL and external resources.
  • Drive business development activities with end-users through relationship building, education, and traditional selling efforts.
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations that close sales in a professional and effective manner.
  • Support existing business and pursue new placement opportunities with the goal of creating incremental growth through direct and indirect selling activities.
  • Actively research and develop lists of potential new clients.
  • Establish and maintain industry contacts that lead to sales; develop and follow up on leads.
  • Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and clients.
  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of industry trends, government regulations, and technical developments that effect target markets.
  • Be involved with industry organizations to include volunteering for available roles and positions within these organizations.
  • Work directly with facilities, customer experience teams, and management to ensure we are selling capacity and offering the correct mix of options for our customers.
  • Other duties as required.

SUPERVISION

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business, or a degree in the sciences with a concentration chemistry or microbiology is highly preferred.
  • Must have experience in cosmetics, personal care, dietary supplements, NHP, OTCs, manufacturing, or similar industry. Business development, account management, customer service, and technical roles are a plus.
  • Strong client orientation and ability to foster long-term client relationships.
  • Ability to brainstorm in a creative way - broad-minded, fast-thinker with a creative, marketing-led brain with an intuitive appreciation of customer journey.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Skills in sales strategy and execution are essential.
  • Microsoft Suite skills are essential as well as basic knowledge of financial software (ERP) and Salesforce (CRM). Commitment to detailed, accurate, and timely results.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Compute rate, ratio, and percent and the ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Collaboration skills and solution-oriented thinking are essential.
  • Ability to multi-task, plan, and organize.
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Some schedule flexibility will be required as work load my vary from week to week.
  • Overnight travel is required for customer visits and tradeshow participation up to 50%.
  • Ability to work constructively and effectively in and out of an office environment.
  • Willingness to work at primary facilities a certain amount of time, depending on location.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
  • Work effectively under stress with interruptions and deadlines.
  • Ability to think logically and plan strategies to achieve desired outcomes.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  2. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and to handle other

  4. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
