About the Role We are looking for a hands-on Talent Acquisition Manager to join our Culture + People dream team and help take talent acquisition to the next level. This role is a working manager who personally owns the entire talent acquisition cycle for a portfolio of roles, including but not limited to; sourcing and pipeline building, prescreening and candidate assessments, interview scheduling and coordination, tracking candidates and requisitions in the applicant tracking system, reporting on recruiting activity and outcomes, facilitating hiring decisions, preparing offer letters and leading offer negotiations. You will partner directly with hiring managers and leaders to deliver a consistent, positive candidate and manager experience, while also optimizing our processes, tools, and recruitment marketing efforts. This role is critical to executing company initiatives, creating a positive experience for our candidates and associates, and driving Culture & People and Talent Acquisition functional excellence. What You Will Do Full-Cycle Talent Acquisition
Manage full-cycle recruiting for assigned roles from intake through offer acceptance and onboarding handoff. Conduct intake meetings with hiring managers to clarify role requirements, success measures, compensation parameters, and interview structure. Proactively source candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, associations, social media, and other creative sourcing strategies to attract high-quality active and passive candidates. Conduct prescreens to assess qualifications, competencies, and culture add, ensuring the mission, vision, and culture of Howard Hughes Communities are showcased and elevated through the candidate experience. Coordinate and schedule interviews (phone, video, and onsite), including any candidate travel logistics such as flights, hotels, onsite transportation, and reimbursements, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience for all candidates. Facilitate interview debriefs and support managers in making timely, well-informed hiring decisions based on structured, behavior-based evaluation. Prepare and extend verbal offers, manage offer and compensation discussions within approved guidelines, and draft accurate written offer letters. Partner with Culture + People Operations to ensure a smooth transition from offer acceptance to onboarding.
Candidate and Manager Experience
Supporting and enhancing our Employer Value Proposition, ensuring that candidates understand our company's benefits/perks, culture, and experiences. Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the process, ensuring timely, clear communication and follow-up. Greet and host candidates during onsite interviews, providing a welcoming and professional environment. Coach hiring managers on effective interviewing practices, legal considerations, and the use of competency-based questions and evaluation tools. Maintain a keen sense of urgency and consistency in screening resumes, assessing qualifications and culture fit, conducting interviews, references, and background checks, and supporting onboarding steps.
Process, Systems, and Reporting
Continually optimize metrics and the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to create an efficient and effective hiring process, including workflows, templates, and candidate communications. Ensure accurate and timely data entry for all requisitions and candidates, enabling reliable reporting and compliance. Produce and share regular reports on key recruiting metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, time-in-stage, source effectiveness, candidate pipeline health, offer acceptance). Identify opportunities to create recruiting efficiencies across the organization, recommending practical solutions that improve consistency and scalability. Implement updated or new recruiting software and tools and updates to the careers webpage page, including configuration, testing, and user training.
Recruitment Marketing, Campus, and Employer Brand
Assist in refining job descriptions, requisition templates, posting requirements, and other talent acquisition compliance matters to support consistent, inclusive hiring practices. Partner with internal communications and marketing to develop and implement strategic initiatives that expand recruiting pools and strengthen our employment brand, including social media, third-party, and internal platforms. Lead or support university programming, including internship and externship efforts-scheduling events, coordinating student candidate touchpoints, managing logistics, and maintaining relationships with university partners.
Partnership and Continuous Improvement
Partner with Culture + People leaders to support hiring managers by sourcing and identifying targeted pipelines of qualified candidates for current and future needs. Share talent market insights, candidate feedback, and process observations to influence workforce planning and hiring strategies. Explore and responsibly integrate new tools and technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, to support sourcing, scheduling, communication, and reporting.
About You
5+ Years of Experience: Proven progressive, hands-on experience in talent acquisition, including full-cycle recruiting in a fast-paced or high-volume environment; prior experience leading recruiting projects or mentoring others is preferred, demonstrating strong organizational capabilities. Ability to creatively source talent utilizing LinkedIn Recruiter, Applicant Tracking Software, Boolean search logic, associations, social media, and internet searches. Experience in building, cultivating, and sustaining networks of qualified, passive candidates and creating mechanisms to effectively manage a candidate pool. Ability to interact with a range of personalities to establish effective relationships at all levels of the organization. Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems; experience with Workday a plus. Experience with recruiting systems and tools (e.g., TenzoAI, Paradox) Ability to work independently and as a part of a team. Curiosity about artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, with a strong desire to continuously learn and apply new tools to work more efficiently. Excellent project management, written and oral communication skills. Self-starter and ability to work with little supervision. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Ability to share information and documents that aid business leaders to effectively manage their respective businesses. Ability to prioritize assignments, manage interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast paced and growth-oriented environment. Exercise sound judgment when making decisions.
