Job Summary:

RWJBH is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider at the New Brunswick campus for the Inpatient Neurosurgery service

This is a per diem position including nights weekends and holidays

Essential Function:

• Seeking an APP with a current NJ license, NCCPA, DEA, CDS, ACLS, and BLS to work with the inpatient Neurosurgery service
• NP candidates must be FNP certified with acute care experience due to the pediatric population on the service
• Ideal candidate would have 3-5 years of inpatient or acute patient care experience in neurosurgery with a desire for acute inpatient work
• Must be willing to become proficient at all inpatient bedside neurosurgical procedures
• Surgical first assisting experience is also preferred
• APN must have RNFA certification in order to work in the operating room

Duties include but are not limited to:

• ICU and Floor patient rounding
• Neurosurgical bedside procedures
• Attending and participation in multidisciplinary rounds
• Covering Neurosurgical service phone for consults and trauma calls
• Updating patients and family regarding plans of care
• Goals of care discussions
• Surgical first assisting

Education

• Graduate of FNP program
• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program

Experience

• 2-5 years of acute inpatient neurosurgical care

Licenses and certificates

• Current NJ APN/PA license required
• NCCPA certification required
• CDS required
• RNFA required for APN with OR skills
• DEA required
• RN required
• BLS required
• ACLS required
