Role Responsibilities

This Senior UI/UX Designer rolewillownthe designof multiple capabilities within our compliance application suite,creatingintuitive, user-centricexperiencesthatimproveefficiency,effectiveness, and experience for usersacross the globe.

This individual will advocate for user experienceprinciples andcontribute to the continuousimprovement ofour design practices.The ideal candidate will have deepexpertiseinuser-experiencedesign and will be a key contributor toourproduct strategy, transformation,and innovation.

Design Strategy & Leadership:

  • Lead design efforts for large-scale, high-impact projects, driving design direction and ensuring consistency acrosscapabilities.

  • Advocate forthe importance of user experience within the company, promoting best practices and user-centric design solutions.

User Research & Analysis:

  • Conduct in-depth user research, including user interviews,personadevelopment, and journey mapping, to inform designand productdecisions.

  • Synthesize research findings into actionable insights that shape the design and development process.

  • Use data-driven approaches to measure user satisfaction andidentifyareas for improvement in the user experience.

  • Ensure that designs are testedandvalidatedrigorously to meet user needs and business goals beforelaunch.

Advanced Design, Wireframing & Prototyping:

  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, and detailed UI specifications that can be handed off to development teams.

  • Supportthe creation of design systems and ensure adherence to UI/UX guidelines and design principles.

  • Provide strategic input on interactive elements, animations, and transitions to elevate the user experience.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and user goals.

  • Ability to lead andfacilitateworkshops(e.g.design sprints, ideation sessions, journey mapping workshops)for collaborative problem solving

  • Support continuous improvement across our teams byproviding feedback and helpingothersto improvetheir skills.

  • Lead design reviews and ensure the teammaintainsa high standard of work.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

  • Stay current on emerging UI/UX trends, tools, and technologies, bringing fresh ideas and best practices to the team.

  • Continuously refine the design process to improve efficiency, collaboration, and quality of work.

  • Drive innovation in design and contribute to the evolution of the design system and product strategy.

Client and Stakeholder Communication:

  • Present design concepts and solutions to clients, stakeholders, and executive leadership, clearly articulating the rationale behind design decisions.

  • Manage multiple projects and priorities, ensuringtimelydelivery whilemaintaininghigh standardsof design quality.

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure thatuserexperience goals align with businessobjectives.

Role Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design, with a proventrack recordof leading0-1design projects.

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), ora relatedfield.

  • Advanced certifications in UI/UX design or related areas are a plus.

  • Advancedproficiencyin design tools such as Figma,Sketch,Adobe XD, or similar.

  • Expertisein prototyping tools like InVision, Principle, or Framer.

  • Expertisein user testing tools (e.g.,UserTesting, Hotjar, Maze) and analytics platforms.

  • Excellent organization and communication skills, capable of presenting complex design ideas clearly and persuasively while ensuring design artifacts are consistently organized, accessible, and aligned across teams.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align user experience goals with businessobjectiveswhile able to influence without authority.

  • Highly collaborative, able to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and other stakeholderstomaintainclarityand alignmentacross distributed teamsthrough organized design artifacts and regular syncs.

  • Adaptable and comfortable in fast-paced environments, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projectsthrough ambiguity.

Work Shift

HYBRID -Western Union values in-person collaboration, problem solving, and ideation whenever possible. We believe this fosters common ways of working and supports how we execute initiatives for our customers. The expectation is to work from the office a minimum of three days a week.

Salary

The base salary range is $121,000 - $151,000 per year, total on target compensation includes a base salary plus short-term incentives that align with individual and company performance.
