Salary Range: $73,200 - $115,700 What your job will be like: This position is part of a cross functional team dedicated to supporting the spectrometers and other experimental equipment in Halls A and C. Equipment includes, but is not limited to: high current DC power supplies, instrumentation, and controls; cryogenics instrumentation and controls; particle detector supporting electronics; and spectrometer motion. This position will involve contributing with a team of engineers and technicians in repairing, upgrading, maintaining, and documenting the equipment, including on call support during the experimental run. This position will be expected to work, with supervision, on control systems and power supplies including troubleshooting and repair, making updates to control software, and providing on-call support during the experimental run. This position will also be responsible for learning how to operate the cryogenics system in hall C and assisting SME with cryogenics operations. Candidates for this position should have a knowledge of basic electronics, familiarity with computers and basic programs such as MS Office, troubleshooting skills, and ability to think critically. Experience with PLCs, programming, or fluid dynamics is a plus. Electronics knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and understanding of pressure-flow relationship will be tested during the interview.
