The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

As a Transporter/Sitter, you are an integral part of the patient care team. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the transporter/ sitter sits with patients to provide a safe environment for individuals who need constant observation. The sitter will provide basic care needed for activities of daily living and diversionary activities.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • BLS Certification through American Heart Association only

Certifications and Licenses:

  • BLS certification through American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Nights 11:00PM - 7:30AM
  • Schedule during the week will vary depending on department needs
  • Per-Diem
  • Mandatory Orientation

Essential Functions:

  • Responding to call lights
  • Transporting patients
  • Making beds and stretchers
  • Cleaning rooms
  • Participation in patient related activities
  • Maintaining therapeutic communication with patients including the supervision of patient interaction with family members
  • Provides supportive intervention as required
