About Mosaic at Home

For nearly 40 years, Mosaic has provided improved quality of life, greater stability, and increased community access for people with disabilities through our shared living service. This program offers a unique, deeply satisfying career option for home providers who want to make a profound difference while working entirely from their own residence.

We work carefully to match interests, personalities, and lifestyles between you and the individual. Through this matching process, you can choose to welcome a person whose needs perfectly fit the level of support you wish to offer.

Your Role: Daily Life Integration (In Your Home)

As a Home Provider, you will offer 24-hour environment support to the individual living with you. Your responsibility is to maintain a safe, healthy home, serve as a mentor, and assist them with the tasks of daily living.

Standard Support Duties (Varies by individual match):

  • Household Tasks: Provide support with cooking, cleaning, laundry, budgeting, and daily decision-making within your home.
  • Health & Well-Being: Assist with medication administration, lifestyle skill acquisition, and driving them to medical appointments.
  • Community & Fun: Provide opportunities for fun and leisure by taking them with you for community inclusion, integration, and socialization.
  • Documentation: Complete daily digital documentation via a web-based case management application (THERAP) using your home computer.

Care Customization (Depending on your comfort level and preference): Duties range from minimal support to full care. Depending on the individual you choose to match with, responsibilities could also include:

  • Assistance with personal hygiene (bathing, toileting, feeding).
  • Managing specific medical protocols (seizure monitoring, fall risks, feeding tubes).
  • Caring for someone with complex physical needs (non-ambulatory, vision or hearing impaired).
  • Providing positive behavioral support.

(Note: Your tax-free compensation is commensurate with the level of care and support the individual requires).

Position Requirements

Housing & Location Requirements:

  • Homeownership/Lease: You must currently own or rent your own home, apartment, condo, or townhouse.
  • Residency: You must be a current resident of the state of Kansas (due to state funding restrictions).
  • Environment: Your residence must be clean, safe, and pass a basic environmental/safety inspection. You must maintain active home or renters insurance.

Personal & Professional Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, a reliable vehicle, car insurance, and current registration (for community outings and appointments).
  • Reliable home computer and internet access (for daily documentation).
  • Ability to pass State/Federal and APS/CPS background checks.
  • Willingness to complete all state-mandated training (provided by Mosaic).
  • Experience in caregiving is preferred, but not required! We will train the right heart.

A Day in the Life

You start your day waking up in your own home. You help the individual living with you prepare breakfast in your kitchen, assist them with their morning medications, and talk about the day ahead. Whether you are running errands together, relaxing in your living room, or heading out into the community for a fun activity, they are integrated seamlessly into your normal household routine. You end the day by logging into your computer to log their daily progress-all without ever leaving your house.
