Summary:

This position that performs duties and responsibilities related to the operation and maintenance of Field Communications equipment and systems. Specifically, provides high-level detailed field technical support of Microwave Radio Systems, VSAT services, mobile radios services, telephone systems, MAS-RF SCADA systems, WAN / LAN, power systems and radio tower facilities. This position maintains operational compliance within applicable specifications, codes, safety standards and operating procedures.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:

  • Maintain and operate facilities in compliance with applicable specifications, codes, safety standards and operating procedures.

  • Participate in partnership safety program and initiatives.

  • Install measurement and control facilities.

  • Perform maintenance and problem identification on microwave, data acquisition, mobile radios, VSAT, telephone systems, analog and digital SCADA systems.

  • Troubleshoot, install and maintain all telecommunications related equipment.

  • Coordinates tower maintenance and any data communications work performed by outside contractors.

  • Performs tests and document results to comply with Federal regulations.

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or GED.

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

  • Level C requires a minimum of 0 - 2 years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience.
  • Level B requires a minimum of 2 - 4 years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience.
  • Level A requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of applicable FCC, NEC requirements and procedures
  • Knowledge of electronic/electrical equipment as they relate to measurement and communication facilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • FCC license.
  • Microsoft office.
  • Some college or technical trade school preferred.

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Driving, walking, standing frequently.
  • Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions and some heavy lifting
    Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
