Hours: This is a full-time position (40 hours per week/ 8:30am-4:30pm / M-F)
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Campus: Chicago
Approximate start date: 6/1/2026
Approximate end date: 9/30/2026

Northwestern University is seeking a temporary full-time Financial Assistant for the Chicago campus.

Temporary Job Description:

  • Provides day-to-day financial & accounting support using an advanced knowledge of applicable skills, methods & practices & some innovation, analysis, & reasoning to choose appropriate alternatives from among pre-defined policies & procedures to complete tasks.
  • Applies industry and professional standards, university policy and procedure, federal and state laws and other regulations.
  • Provides administrative &/or clerical support.

Qualifications Required:

A bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience;

Strong writing skills;

High level of organizational skills and attention to detail;

Diligent and can work independently;

Experience working with confidential information;

Professionalism;

Flexibility, adaptability in a fast paced environment.

Software Required:

MS Office suite 2013 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

In addition to salary, this temporary position is eligible for paid time off and paid sick time in accordance with Northwestern University policies. This position is not eligible for other benefits offered to regular staff positions.
