POSITION SUMMARY

The Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Program Manager serves as the operational and strategic lead responsible for building, scaling, and executing the company's UAS portfolio across training, operations, and customer-facing programs. This role integrates technology, personnel, and mission requirements into deployable capability for Government and commercial customers.

The Program Manager owns full lifecycle program execution, including planning, resourcing, and delivery of UAS operations, training, and capability development efforts. This position requires a balance of operational credibility, program management discipline, and business development acumen to translate customer requirements into executable concepts of employment (CONOPS), training frameworks, and scalable service offerings.

The PM leads multidisciplinary teams, interfaces directly with customers and senior leadership, and drives the integration of UAS platforms, payloads, and supporting systems into real-world operational environments.



RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Lead the planning, execution, and scaling of UAS programs across training, operations, and customer engagements
  • Translate customer requirements into executable CONOPS, TTPs, and training programs aligned to mission objectives
  • Oversee field execution of UAS operations, including deployments, demonstrations, and training events in domestic and international environments
  • Integrate UAS platforms, payloads, and supporting systems into operational environments, coordinating with vendors and technical partners
  • Manage all aspects of program performance, including scope, cost, schedule, and quality
  • Develop and maintain program documentation, reporting, and executive-level briefings that communicate performance and risk
  • Lead and mentor site leads, operators, and support personnel to ensure effective execution and organizational growth
  • Coordinate with internal functional teams including finance, HR, contracts, and logistics to enable program success
  • Identify, shape, and support new business opportunities aligned with UAS and C-UAS mission requirements
  • Support capture and proposal efforts by developing operationally grounded solutions and participating in customer engagements
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, subcontractors, and partners across Government and commercial sectors
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Work is performed in a professional office and field environment, supporting both operational planning and execution. This position is designated as On-Site / Hybrid, with up to two (2) telework days per week based on business needs. The expected primary work location is Moyock, NC. Standard business hours are Monday-Friday; however, extended or weekend hours may be required based on operational demands. Travel is estimated at up to 35%, including international travel as needed, with potential for work in austere or high-risk environments.



QUALIFICATIONS



  • 7-10+ years of experience in UAS operations, program management, or related field
  • Proven experience leading UAS operations in complex, deployed, or high-demand environments
  • Demonstrated experience managing programs with responsibility for cost, schedule, and performance (P&L exposure preferred)
  • Experience developing and delivering UAS training programs for DoD, federal, or commercial customers
  • Strong understanding of UAS systems, including communications, data links, payload integration, and power systems
  • Ability to integrate multiple UAS platforms or sensor systems into cohesive operational solutions
  • Working knowledge of FAA regulations including Part 107, COA processes, and flight safety requirements
  • Experience translating operational requirements into CONOPS, TTPs, and executable plans
  • Familiarity with contractual frameworks including FFP, T&M, NDAs, MOUs, and MSAs
  • Ability to develop and track performance metrics and KPIs tied to program success
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing geographically dispersed teams
  • Ability to operate in fast-paced environments and make decisions under pressure with incomplete information
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level briefings
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must hold an FAA Part 107 license
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • This role requires the ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and carrying equipment up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and operating in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Military experience, particularly in aviation, ISR, or UAS operations
  • Experience with FPV drone operations and emerging UAS threat environments
  • Familiarity with C-UAS concepts, layered defense, and contested airspace operations
  • Experience supporting training, assessments, or operations in denied or degraded environments
  • Prior experience as a UAS instructor or course developer
  • PMP certification or equivalent program management credential
  • Private Pilot License
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field
