Maintenance Worker - Lead
Job Family: Lake Operations Pay Grade: 919 Location: Possum Kingdom Vacancy Announcement NATURE OF THE WORK Safety Sensitive Position WC - 9102 BRIEF DESCRIPTION The purpose of this position is to perform in a lead capacity to monitor and maintain grounds and facilities as part of a team for the Brazos River Authority (BRA). This is accomplished by overseeing less experienced employees while maintaining, repairing, cleaning, and renovating BRA facilities, parks, and equipment; and providing routine grounds maintenance. This position performs building maintenance by painting; installing carpet; providing plumbing repairs and assisting with electrical repair and installations; and performs grounds maintenance by cleaning and maintaining parks and restrooms; mowing; weed-eating; trimming trees; fertilizing; operating sprinkler systems; repairing cement and rock work fixtures; constructing and repairing fences, gates, picnic tables, awnings and buildings; completing welding and fabrication as needed on facilities and equipment; and using a variety of heavy equipment which may include dump trucks, front end loaders, backhoes, skid loaders, mini-excavators, cranes, compressors, jack hammers, boats, and tractors to perform necessary maintenance and repairs. Other duties include assisting with dam operations, performing routine equipment maintenance, daily record keeping, interacting and providing customer service with other employees and any other duties as assigned. Today, BRA's staff develops and distributes water supplies, provides water and wastewater treatment, monitors water quality, and pursues water conservation through public education programs.
