Job Summary

Leads, manages, and coordinates all phases of one or more construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout. Provides strategic oversight for project execution, financial performance, scheduling, risk management, and operational success while fostering strong client relationships and supporting business development initiatives. This role requires advanced leadership capabilities, extensive industry knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously. Prior biotech or pharmaceutical project experience is strongly preferred.

Locations include Raleigh, Birmingham, Indianapolis, Denver, San Francisco, and Seattle.

Job Responsibilities




  • Lead and manage multiple construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout



  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, design professionals, subcontractors, and industry partners to support future business opportunities



  • Supervise, train, coach, and mentor project team members to build and maintain high-performing teams



  • Provide regular performance feedback and complete employee evaluations in a timely manner



  • Collaborate with internal teams to support business development efforts and secure new projects



  • Ensure compliance with all ethical standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements across assigned projects



  • Evaluate project risks and lead contract negotiations, including pricing strategies and fee structures



  • Oversee the development, maintenance, and execution of master project schedules



  • Manage project budgets, forecasting activities, and overall financial performance



  • Support implementation of organizational initiatives, operational tools, and construction technologies



  • Oversee Quality Assurance and Quality Control programs across all assigned projects



  • Enforce safety standards and promote a culture of safety on all job sites



  • Support collaboration between project teams, clients, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery



  • Contribute to community engagement initiatives aligned with organizational goals and values



  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned




Job Requirements




  • Strong knowledge of construction cost management, scheduling, estimating, procurement, and engineering principles



  • Solid understanding of financial and accounting principles related to construction project management



  • Ability to identify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities



  • Knowledge of regional construction markets with demonstrated sales and client development skills



  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills



  • Proficiency in standard business software applications, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation tools



  • Advanced presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills



  • Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules



  • Experience implementing advanced construction technologies, including Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Lean methodologies



  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and decision-making skills



  • Ability to meet physical demands including climbing stairs and ladders, navigating active construction sites, and lifting up to 50 pounds



  • Ability to work in environments with varying noise levels, weather conditions, and exposure to construction-related hazards




Education




  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience




Work Experience




  • Minimum of 18 years of relevant construction management experience



  • Prior experience supporting biotech or pharmaceutical construction projects is strongly preferred
