Position Summary

Mechanical (HVAC - Senior Engineer) will be based at the project site and will lead the endtoend execution of HVAC systems from installation through testing, commissioning, and handover. The role covers supervision of chilled/condenser water piping, Hot water boiler, radiators, pumps, cooling towers, heaters, hot water lines, shunt units, AHU's, FCUs, PAC's, Heat pumps, VRF/VRV systems, refrigeration lines, fans, insulation, ducting, sheet metal and supports, equipment placement, and integration of controls to ensure delivery aligns with approved drawings, technical specifications, and project standards. Daytoday responsibilities include monitoring progress, verifying workmanship and material compliance, and ensuring correct installation and safe operation of equipment including chillers, pumps, cooling towers, hot water boilers, radiators, heaters, hot water lines, shunt units, AHUs, FCUs, heat pumps, PAC's, VRF/VRV systems, ventilation systems, pressurization fans, and heat exchangers.


Responsibilities

The position requires close coordination with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, and BMS/controls teams to maintain clearances, access, drainage, and proper routing while avoiding clashes and rework. The engineer will review and validate shop drawings, method statements, ITPs, and material submittals; raise and resolve technical queries; manage redline updates; and support the preparation of asbuilt documentation. Responsibilities also include planning and supervising pressure testing, flushing and chemical cleaning, leak testing, refrigerant charging, insulation and vapor barrier works, TAB activities, and structured precommissioning and commissioning to achieve the specified performance. Regular engagement with project managers, consultants, and client stakeholders is expected to maintain schedule adherence, quality compliance, and safe execution throughout the construction phase.


Qualifications

Have strong site experience in HVAC execution with a solid understanding of both airside and waterside systems and practical installation methods. Proficiency in reading and interpreting HVAC layouts, schematics, riser diagrams, and equipment schedules is essential, alongside the ability to validate shop drawings and resolve field conditions effectively. Familiarity with Revit MEP, Navisworks, and AutoCAD is preferred for model reviews, clash coordination, and construction documentation, and working knowledge of BMS/controls integration and TAB procedures is advantageous.

A deep understanding of how HVAC systems interface with architectural, structural, electrical, and plumbing disciplines is critical for effective site coordination and problem solving. The role requires the capability to identify deviations, assess risks, and guide contractors with clear technical instructions while maintaining compliance with U.S. standards and good industry practice, including relevant ASHRAE guidelines, IMC requirements, and projectspecific specifications. Strong communication, analytical thinking, and confident onsite decisionmaking are important, together with a disciplined focus on safety, quality, and commissioning deliverables. Background in the Iron & Steel sector, with involvement in Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) plant construction activities will be an added preference.


Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
