Position Overview

The Senior Manager, Business Affairs - Music is responsible for managing and preparing music-related agreements for the Business Affairs team. This role supports film and media productions by coordinating music contracts, licensing, clearances, payment approvals, and music-related data tracking systems. The ideal candidate will have strong entertainment industry experience, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate work-for-hire music production agreements in collaboration with music attorneys.
  • Manage and maintain attorney status reports and agreement tracking within Airtable, including deal memo status, agreement execution, comments, and payment tracking.
  • Maintain Airtable status charts related to music licensing and clearance activities.
  • Prepare and review restriction memos related to film scores, original songs, and source music used in productions.
  • Review and approve payments for work-for-hire, licensing, and music production agreements prior to final processing.
  • Serve as a primary contact for music data tracking and asset management systems, including Airtable, ONSet, Trevanna Tracks, iManage, and related platforms.
  • Review music licenses and clearance documentation as needed.
  • Conduct database research and maintain accurate music-related records and documentation.
  • Support internal marketing and business development teams with music-related agreement and documentation requests.
  • Coordinate with attorneys and internal stakeholders to ensure timely processing of agreements and music-related deliverables.


Qualifications
Required

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 3-5 years of entertainment industry experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to analyze, summarize, and modify complex contracts efficiently
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across multiple teams


Preferred

  • Experience in music business affairs, music licensing, or entertainment legal support
  • Paralegal certificate or formal legal training
  • Experience working with Airtable or similar tracking/database systems
  • Familiarity with music licensing, clearances, and rights management
