Primary Purpose of the Position:
Fayetteville State University's School of Nursing is seeking qualified and dedicated candidates for three Lecturer (Special Faculty) 000332/000333/000334 positions. All qualified applicants will be considered for open positions.

The Lecturer in Nursing is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in undergraduate and/or graduate nursing programs. This position supports student learning through classroom, clinical, and/or simulation-based instruction, contributes to curriculum delivery, and engages in service and limited scholarly activities that support the academic mission of the School of Nursing. This is a 9-month position with an anticipated start date of August 2026.

This position is funded by state and non-state funds and has been designated time limited. Continuation of this position is contingent upon the continuing availability of those funds.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Master's degree in nursing (MSN) from accredited institutions.
  • Current, unrestricted RN license in North Carolina (or eligibility for licensure).
  • Demonstrated teaching ability or relevant experience in nursing.

Knowledge skills and abilities:
Instructional Delivery:
Demonstrated ability to effectively teach nursing concepts in classroom, clinical, and/or simulation environments using evidence-based instruction methods.
Clinical Expertise:
Strong clinical knowledge and competency in nursing practice, with the ability to integrate current standards if care into teaching.
Assessment & Evaluation:
Ability to design, administer, and evaluate student learning outcomes, including grading, feedback, and competency validation.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage diverse student populations and collaborate with faculty and clinical partners.
Regulatory & Accreditation Awareness:
Working knowledge of nursing education standards, accreditation requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree (DNP or PhD) in Nursing or related field.
  • Prior teaching experience in higher education or clinical instruction.
  • Experience with simulation-based or online instruction.
