Overview:

We are looking for an energetic, analytical and creative thinker, with a passion for connecting with people and recommending solutions that facilitate growth. This is a high-profile position that involves managing relationships with key distribution partners, decision makers and operations teams.

As an Account Executive, you will oversee the successful development, growth, and retention of both new and existing distribution partners. Your effectiveness in building strong relationships, resolving problems efficiently, negotiating opportunities, and fostering consultative growth will be vital to the mutual success of our clients and Securian Financial.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Act as the primary resource to resolve ongoing account-level needs collaborating with internal teams to manage client projects.

  • Manage large relationships with complex financial arrangements involving multiple products, financial institution, association & affinity markets.

  • Establish business relationships and an overall strategy for retention and growth with assigned clients and distribution partners by developing an understanding of their business vision, goals, and needs.

  • Facilitate and conduct client business reviews need virtually and in person.

  • Provide expertise regarding Securian products and services in order to optimize existing opportunities and develop recommendations for emerging opportunities from new and existing partners.

  • Recommend relationship improvements and investments in processes and capabilities to retain and grow account.

  • Prioritize business needs and make recommendations for internal and external resource allocation.

  • Represent the business line as needed at distributor and industry programs and events.

  • Support client and channel partner prospecting, acquisition and RFPs for new and existing clients.

  • Assess special requests and make recommendations to leadership for prioritization, implementation or denial.

  • Identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement; recommend changes to enhance client satisfaction and engagement.

  • Maintain process documentation, market detail, and data requirements for existing clients and distribution relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to identify root problems or opportunities, looking for interdependencies and recognizing broad implications of issues, to ensure operational efficiencies.

  • Strategic thinking skills to optimize business retention and identify opportunities for growth.

  • Decision making ability to respond appropriately and in a timely manner to client and team needs.

  • Strong initiative and leadership in building relationships, identifying issues and working proactively to meet client and business needs.

  • Demonstrated independence, as well as the ability to work in a team environment to facilitate use of Home Office resources to resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Strong organizational skills and results orientation, with follow through.

PreferredQualifications:

  • Client facing experience, preferably in a business-to-business (B2B) environment.

  • Account management and/or sales experience in a B2B environment.

  • Ability to find Innovative approaches to resolving issues and win opportunities.

Securian Financial believes in hybrid work as an integral part of our culture.Associates get the benefit of working both virtually and in our offices. If you're in a commutable distance (90 minutes) you'll join us 3 days each week in our offices to collaborate and build relationships. Our policy allows flexibility for the reality of business and personal schedules. When working in our offices at least two days per week isn't feasible (vacations, illness, travel, etc.), an eight day per month standard is an option.

The estimated base pay range for this job is:

$73,700.00 - $136,800.00

Pay may vary depending on job-related factors and individual experience, skills, knowledge, etc. More information on base pay and incentive pay (if applicable) can be discussed with a member of the Securian Financial Talent Acquisition team.
