TOOLROOM ATTENDANT

Internal Job Title: Asst Technician Job Grade: A6

GENERAL FUNCTION: Receives and stores tools, equipment and supplies and issues them to yard employees.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities:

Keeps a log of tools and materials that have been issued, follow up to ensure that items are returned as scheduled and in good working order.

Tracks inventory and orders new material and supplies when necessary.

Orders parts and material to repair equipment.

Stores repaired equipment in appropriate areas for easy retrieval.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge of tools and materials. 6month - 2 years' prior experience in inventory control.

Familiar with drawings and blueprints. Prior experience in a shipyard environment.
