Position Summary
The Maintenance T echnician performs a variety of skilled maintenance work to maintain , troubleshoot and repair production machinery, perform preventative maintenance , and p erform maintenance on building and grounds as needed. This position reports directly to th e Operations Manager and in cooperation with the Maintenance Department Lead.
Essential Job Functions (Job-Specific Knowledge/Skills )
  • Troubleshoot machines and equipment that have mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and control parts.
  • Perform maintenance and repair work to minimize production downtime.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, system checks and equipment inspections as scheduled.
  • Maintain necessary inventories of parts used to ensure minimal downtime of equipment.
  • Assist with moving and installing equipment. Disconnect and reconnect service to machines.
  • Manufacture or procure repaired/ replacement equipment and parts.
  • Operate manual machine shop equipment /tools and/or welding equipment for maintenance repairs.
  • Become familiar with all applicable safety programs and follow prescribed procedures.
Qualifications (Expertise in Discipline)
  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience required
  • Good mechanical ability and some familiarity with electrical maintenance
  • Able to read and interpret drawings and specifications used in equipment repairs
  • Familiar with hand/power tools and gages, meters, etc.
  • Some troubleshooting skills for controllers and/or PLCs preferred
  • A high-school diploma or GED
  • Some formal education and/or certificates in the trades is preferred
  • Good interpersonal skills, service and team orientation

Work is performed indoors. Indoor areas are generally well lit. Temperature/humidity can vary greatly depending on weather, ranging from 60 o to 100 o F. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
