Hiring Department

The Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Department is one of the largest academic units at Missouri S&T and supports both undergraduate and graduate education. The department conducts instruction, laboratory activities, and sponsored research across a broad range of engineering areas and secures substantial research funding to support these efforts. Facilities provide opportunities for hands-on learning and research engagement, contributing to both instructional and scholarly activity. Ongoing and future initiatives, including the Protoplex building, expand research and collaboration space for students, faculty, and industry partners.

Job Description

  • Coordinate 2-day MOSGC Spring meeting (during the second half of April)
    • Notify sub-awards and their students regarding report submission and meeting presentation
    • Reserve meeting rooms and banquet room on campus
    • Book hotel rooms for participants
    • Prepare banquet menu and place orders for other meals throughout the event
    • Distribute parking permits to Friday visitors
    • Order continental breakfast for Saturday, and drinks and snacks
    • Facilitate travel reimbursements for student attendees
    • Help with meeting activities Friday afternoon and Saturday morning of the meeting dates.
    • Hire student help for Friday and Saturday
    • Compile the student reports into one meeting proceedings
  • Coordinate with Research Office on subawards, invoices and FIN reports
  • Support programmatic budget and expenditures with the MOSGC team
  • Process Travel and Expense Reports obtained via OneCard
  • Send out announcements on NASA internships and fellowships and research awards. Process applications and proposals
  • Send reminders to MOSGC director, project manager and Affiliates and Associates re activities on the MOSGC calendar
  • Coordinate with web developer to update content as needed
  • Attend the MOSGC Executive Committee meetings in Fall and Spring at S&T
  • Help program manager to collect data for semi-annual reports to NASA
  • Attend webinars and virtual meetings relevant to the state consortia organized by NASA and the National Space Grant
  • Other duties as needed
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $15.505-$20.75 hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
