1. Summary of Position: (Brief description of overall responsibilities and function)

The Manager of P21 Electrical & Avionics Design and Sustaining Engineering is accountable for both Design and Sustaining engineering activities related to avionics and electrical systems, for Projects executed in AWPC.

He/She is responsible for the discipline specific design engineering activities conducted under Part 21 rules, and in accordance with the Leonardo Helicopter DOA Handbook. He/She is responsible for coordination with Leonardo Helicopter engineering organizations in other geographies, to ensure appropriate configuration management and to support certification activities conducted under DOA delegation(s).

He/She is responsible for the discipline specific liaison engineering activities in support of the AWPC Part 21 Production Line. He/She is responsible to coordinate all discipline specific sustaining activities to address findings and non-conformities on the Final Assembly Line and in the Flight Line.

In addition to the above responsibilities, the Manager of P21 Electrical & Avionics Design and Sustaining Engineering is responsible for coordinating with his/her Structures, Systems & Interior counterparts at AWPC.

The position requires extensive experience working in a Design Organization and knowledge of aircraft/helicopters platforms, including qualification and certification processes according to EASA/FAA Part 21 rules, as well as an understanding of Part 145 & Part 43 rules related to Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs), 8110-3 supported Form 337 alterations and Repairs.

Managing the Electrical & Avionics Design and Sustaining Engineering group

Supporting the production final assembly & Flight Line in solving technical issues

Leading management of new Kits/system design and support certification for

AWPC production build

Liaison on behalf of the Design Organization (DO) supporting AWPC Production

5.

Liaison between Customer Support/DO for technical guidance of Technical Bulletins

10

6.

Assisting Customer Support/PSE with the resolution of In-Service engineering issues

10

7.

Plan, manage and execute electrical design activities for AWPC in coordination with the Avionics and Electrical Systems Departments @ LHIT

10

8.

Develop test plans and procedures in support of certification and acceptance testing.

10

9.

Support STC holders, including managing and coordinating any TC modifications

10

10.

Support development of Systems Engineering competencies and overall team development and mentorship.

  1. Qualifications for Position:

A. Education

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent background in Aerospace/Electrical Engineering

B. Experience

10 years of experiences in a Design Organization. At least 5 years of team leading and coordination

C. Competencies & Attributes

Deep knowledge of Part 27 & Part 29 regulations

Skills and aptitude to lead projects and coordinate work of others.

Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) required.

Experience in lean processes.

Excellent problem solving abilities.
