Position Overview

Denver Health, a nationally recognized, integrated safety-net health system, is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Otolaryngologist to join our growing Division of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

We welcome candidates with comprehensive general ENT training, with a preference for fellowship training or clinical expertise in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, though this is not required. The ideal candidate will thrive in a mission-driven environment and demonstrate a commitment to caring for a diverse and underserved patient population.

Practice Highlights

  • Join a collaborative team of 5 Otolaryngology physicians and 3 full-time Advanced Practice Providers
  • Broad scope general otolaryngology practice with opportunities to develop subspecialty interests
  • Strong referral base within an integrated system including primary care and specialty services
  • Subspecialty expertise established within group includes Head and Neck Oncologic and Endocrine Surgery, Laryngology, and Pediatric Otolaryngology
  • Access to modern OR facilities, fully equipped clinic space, and skilled support staff
  • Academic affiliation and frequent involvement in teaching

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in surgical, inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Perform a wide range of otolaryngologic procedures
  • Participate in shared call coverage with the University of CO, Denver Health and the VA
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the health system
  • Engage in quality improvement and mission-driven care delivery

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Otolaryngology
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Colorado
  • Fellowship training or interest in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery preferred but not required
  • Commitment to serving a diverse, safety-net population

Essential Functions:

  • Diagnose and treat diseases of the ear, nose, upper pharynx, larynx, oral cavity, and other head and neck structures. (20%)
  • Examine the affected organs with the use of equipment such as x-ray machines, fluoroscopes, microscopes, nasoscopes, prisms, and audiometers. (20%)
  • Prescribe medications or conduct surgery. (20%)
  • May also perform tests to find out the severity of hearing or speech loss due to diseases or injuries; perform reconstructive surgery to treat birth defects; remove benign and malignant tumors of the face and neck; install cochlear implants; and treat sleep disorders. (20%)
  • Work closely with other physicians of other medical specialties to solve various medical issues or perform extensive surgery. (20%)

Education:

  • Doctorate Degree Required

Licenses:

  • MD-Physician - State Medical Board Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques.
  • Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment.
  • Able to effectively manage and direct medical staff support activities while providing quality medical care.
  • Able to receive detailed information through oral communications; express or exchange ideas by verbal communications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications, listening, and social skills.
  • Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, skill levels and value systems.
  • Performs in a tactful and professional manner.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Computer skills preferred.
