At Jack Henry, we're seeking a Network Support Engineer to join our Enterprise Network team. In this role, you'll support and help maintain our network infrastructure, which spans from datacenters to millions of end-users across financial institutions. Our technology environment includes modern wired and wireless solutions, providing a great opportunity to learn, contribute, and grow your skills.

In this position, you'll assist with network changes, upgrades, and incident resolution. You'll help troubleshoot wired and wireless connectivity issues, support network improvements, and contribute to maintaining reliable, high-performing connectivity across the organization. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build their experience in a large-scale environment while developing their technical knowledge in a fast-paced, technology-driven team

This position may be worked remotely within the United States, with the exception of California. All positions, regardless of location, may require an onsite interview or in-person onboarding requirement to verify your identity.

Must be able to travel up to 20% to attend onsite meetings or trainings.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Assist in the design, deployment, and maintenance of network solutions to support enterprise and data center environments, ensuring compliance with financial industry regulations and security standards.
  • Participate in the configuration, management, and maintenance of network devices, including routers, switches, and wireless controllers (e.g., Cisco, Arista), to ensure seamless connectivity and performance.
  • Implement and support dynamic routing and transport protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, and MPLS to enhance network scalability and reliability.
  • Maintain and utilize network automation scripts using Python and Ansible to improve operational efficiency and ensure safe, consistent execution of production network changes. May participate in development of scripts.
  • Provide hardware and software support for the wireless infrastructure across all locations, ensuring optimal connectivity and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Security, Systems, and Operations, to implement, and maintain secure, high-performing network services.
  • Execute disaster recovery and business continuity strategies by leveraging established SOPs to minimize downtime and mitigate risks.
  • Participate in capacity planning and network expansion projects, ensuring scalability and future-proofing of the infrastructure to meet the growing needs of banks and credit unions.
  • Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures, to support efficient troubleshooting and knowledge sharing.
  • Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues to maintain high availability and reliability.
  • Engage in on-call rotations with team members to provide 24/7 support and rapid incident resolution.
  • Stay updated on emerging networking technologies and recommend improvements to enhance network performance, security, and operational efficiency.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll need to have:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in network engineering within a large enterprise environment.
  • Experience within the FinTech or Financial Services sector.

What would be nice for you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology.
  • Proficiency in Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols, including VLANs, STP, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
  • Hands-on experience with network automation and scripting (e.g., Ansible/Python).
  • Familiarity with SD-WAN and cloud networking solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
