DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position leads skilled mechanics who inspect, maintain, and repair a wide range of vehicles and equipment. You will support safe and reliable transportation services across the county. As a Mechanic Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:
- Team Leadership: Guide mechanics in planning, completing, and reviewing maintenance and repair work
- Equipment Oversight: Monitor inspections, repair methods, and accuracy of work orders and parts usage
- Facility Safety: Maintain a clean and safe shop environment while promoting strong safety practices
- Technical Support: Assist with diagnosing complex equipment issues and demonstrate repair techniques
- Resource Management: Purchase parts, track inventory, and ensure needed tools and materials are available

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Hours may vary due to operational and/or seasonal requirements
- Travel and overtime may be required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of journey level mechanical experience in the diagnosis and repair of automobiles, heavy trucks, or construction equipment; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License with possession of the Air Brake Restriction (L) removed or equivalent.
- This position requires a valid Pennsylvania Class 4 or Class 7 Inspection Mechanic Certification.
- This position requires one year of experience or training in the repair or maintenance of diesel engines.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
