Job Description




As a Juvenile Detention Security Officer - Unarmed in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal in a government location where you will help manage access control, monitor assigned areas, and support security-related operations through visible presence, routine patrols, and strong communication. What You'll Do:

    Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, screening employees, visitors, and/or contractors, and supporting security-related protocols at a government location.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, gates, and/or designated checkpoints to help control authorized access, verify credentials, issue visitor passes when appropriate, and document arrivals and departures.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, unsecured areas, and/or conditions that may require follow-up.
  • Complete required logs, reports, and/or incident documentation related to access activity, policy concerns, and security-related events in accordance with site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
