Job Description:Reporting to Associate Provost for Experiential Learning, the Director provides the vision, leadership, and management of The Mac Donnell Career and Internship Center (TMCIC), its administrative team, and oversight of all TMCIC initiatives. The Director works with the Associate Provost and the Senior Experiential Learning Team to cultivate a culture of excellence and innovation in experiential learning at Siena University. The ideal candidate will be excited by the opportunity to envision, create, and sustain a campus wide career-readiness ecosystem that supports all students on their journey to prepare for fulfilling careers. Strategy Development In collaboration with Associate Provost for Experiential Learning, set short- and long-term goals for the Center, aligned with the university's mission and student retention efforts. Partner with the Development Office to engage alumni as mentors, recruiters, and guest speakers. Follow labor market trends to advise leadership and adapt career programming to evolving industry demands. Department Leadership Provide leadership to the TMCIC team, focusing on professional development, innovation and continuous improvement. Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and student-centered working environment. Manage the department budget, resource allocation, and revenue generation. Employer Relations Develop and maintain relationships with employers and alumni networks to expand internship and job opportunities for students. In collaboration with faculty and employers, develop for-credit internship opportunities. Oversee campus career events, including university-wide career fairs and tabling events. Cross-Campus Collaboration Work with academic Deans, department chairs, and faculty to further integrate career readiness and experiential learning into the curriculum. Liaise with campus partners to embed career exploration into the student experience. Collaborate with the Development Office to engage alumni as mentors, recruiters, and guest speakers. As the primary institutional representative for career development, represent the Office at divisional meetings and serve on campus-wide committees. Career Counseling Oversee and conduct comprehensive career counseling, coaching, educational workshops and other programming to support student exploration of career opportunities. Partner with faculty to offer career presentations in classes. Teach the courses offered by the Center and participate in other engagement opportunities. Assessment Oversee the utilization of a career technology platform (Handshake) to optimize service delivery. Regularly evaluate effectiveness of career programming and promote continuous improvement.
