As a Maintenance Technician II (Measurement) in Lewisburg, Tennessee, you will actively maintain our gas metering, regulating, and support systems. You will calibrate advanced meters and troubleshoot RTUs and gas analyzers. Your practical skills ensure energy flows reliably to homes, businesses, and communities. What you will do:
  • Test, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot meters, pressure regulators, control valves, relief valves, pneumatic control devices, RTUs, Electronic Gas Measurement (EGM) systems, and gas analyzers such as positive displacement, rotary, Coriolis, turbine, orifice, or ultrasonic meters.

  • Perform routine maintenance on odorizers, determine and set injection rates, and report odorant usage and concentration in gas.

  • Operate and maintain power supply systems and in-line heaters; install small diameter instrument piping and tubing to specification.

  • Employ test and inspection devices to confirm and adjust instruments; uphold test equipment certifications following standard operating procedures.

  • Complete reports accurately and completely, write gas handling procedures, and assist in planning work and contributing budget-related information as required.

  • Carry out tasks following company policies and procedures, along with regulations from the Pipeline & Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This is done by adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals.

What you have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent education along with two years of directly related training and experience.

  • Associate degree in a relevant technical field, or comparable education and/or experience.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

  • Must be able to perform physically challenging activities in all types of weather conditions.

  • Must live within 30 miles of the designated reporting site.

  • Must be able and willing to work extra hours, weekends, shifts, on-call and standby, and travel overnight as needed.

Preferred:
  • Strong technical and analytical capabilities developed through education, training, and experience.

  • Works independently with minimal supervision while taking initiative to resolve issues.

  • Demonstrates clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experienced in the operation and upkeep of gas metering and measurement facilities.

  • Proficient in standard office software applications.

  • Applies innovative problem-solving within established procedures.

  • Contributes to a collaborative, inclusive team environment grounded in integrity and openness.

Working Conditions:
  • This position involves mostly outdoor work. It also includes office duties such as training, meetings, and documenting tasks required by the Department of Transportation and other agencies.

  • You must be capable of handling physically challenging tasks in various weather conditions. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, shifts, on-call, standby, and overnight travel is necessary.

  • You must currently live or be prepared to move within 30 miles of the designated reporting location.

Physical Requirements:
Include but are not limited to: grasping, kneeling, and light to moderate lifting of objects up to 50 pounds. Reaching above shoulder and repetitive motion. Sitting, standing, and visual requirements such as seeing screens, detecting color coding, and reading fine print. Hearing is also required. Mobility involves walking outdoors on uneven and slippery terrain and entering and exiting excavations. Agility is needed to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and other devices using feet, legs, hands, and arms.

Include but are not limited to the ability to: understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information. Understand complex problems and collaborate to explore alternative solutions. Coordinate thoughts and ideas into clear terminology. Prioritize and coordinate the work schedule on a short-term basis. Make decisions with moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor effects beyond this area. Understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines. Complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda, and basic reports. Communicate with individuals via telephone.
