Location: Owatonna, MN - In Office

Your Responsibilities:

• Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations in their areas of responsibility.

• Counselsemployeesregardinghuman resource policies and proceduresrelativeto transfer, promotion, pay,benefitsand conditions of employment.

• Conducts new hire orientations. Periodically reviews materials distributed during orientation and in recruitment packets and updates or recommends improvements.

• Processes Status changes and updates the HRIS system for hires, terminations, job changes, salary/wage changes, benefit changes, personal data changes, etc.

• Administers Workers' Compensation programs. Prepares first report of injury andmaintainsrecords of accidents for OSHA reporting. Monitors existing Workers' Compensation claims and ensures that progress is made in rehabilitating employees. Coordinates theReturn to Workprogram. .

• Administers benefit programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, 401(k) plans, vacation,sick leave,leave of absence, and employeeassistancefor their location. Keeps records of benefit plan participation and prepares employee benefit materials packets for the annual Open Enrollment.

• Administers union labor agreements including job bidding, transfers, wage changes, departmentchangesand discipline logs, etc.

• Participates on Safety Committees,attendsunion grievance meetings andassistswith union negotiations preparations, mayparticipatein union negotiations asrequested.

• MaintainsHuman Resources files including employee files, medical/workers compensation files, trainingrecordsand other employee records.

• Preparesreports,asrequested.

• Responds to inquiriesregardingbenefits, retirements and other Human Resources policies, procedures, and programs.

• Monitors salaried and hourly attendance.

• Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews todeterminereasons behind separations.Ensuresthat the Exit Checklist iscompleted. Prepare information for the state Unemployment Agency. Attends Unemployment Hearings, as needed.

Your Qualifications:

• Associatesdegree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, orequivalent degree.

• 3+ yearsrelated experience and/ortraining

The typical hourly base salary for this position ranges from $25.72 - $42.44 in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
