Senior Product Manager, Performance Experience San Mateo or San Diego, hybrid *remote considered We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to own the employee and manager experience for our Performance Management Process. This role will partner closely with Talent Enablement & Development, People Technology, HR, business leaders, managers, employees, and technical teams to design, launch, and continuously improve our new performance experience using Betterworks. This person will serve as the product owner for the performance management experience after go-live, translating talent strategy into clear product requirements, managing the internal roadmap, understanding the Betterworks roadmap, prioritizing enhancements, and ensuring the process and system are simple, useful, and adopted by employees and managers. Responsibilities
- Own the product roadmap for the Performance Management Process, including post-launch enhancements, backlog prioritization, release planning, and ongoing optimization.
- Partner with Talent Enablement & Development to translate performance philosophy, process design, and talent priorities into Betterworks workflows, requirements, and user experiences.
- Serve as the voice of employees, managers, HR practitioners, and business stakeholders in product decisions.
- Partner with People Technology and technical teams to define business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, configuration needs, integrations, testing plans, and launch readiness.
- Build a clear intake, prioritization, and governance process for system and process enhancements.
- Monitor the Betterworks product roadmap and assess which vendor capabilities should be adopted, tested, piloted, or deferred.
- Use employee feedback, manager feedback, adoption data, support trends, and performance-cycle insights to identify improvement opportunities.
- Lead user acceptance testing, issue resolution, release communications, and stakeholder readiness for new features or process changes.
- Partner with HR, communications, learning, and change teams to support adoption through training, enablement materials, manager guidance, and launch communications.
- Define and track success measures for the performance experience, including adoption, usability, completion, sentiment, support volume, and process effectiveness.
- Build trusted relationships across Talent, HR, IT, business teams, and vendor partners to ensure the product supports strategic talent goals and day-to-day user needs.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in product management, HR technology, talent management, performance management, employee experience, or a related role.
- Experience owning a product, platform, program, or major employee-facing process from implementation through continuous improvement.
- Strong understanding of performance management processes, such as goal setting, check-ins, feedback, reviews, calibration, manager enablement, and employee development.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business and talent needs into clear requirements, user stories, workflows, and prioritized roadmaps.
- Experience partnering with technical teams, HR teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver system or process changes.
- Strong user experience orientation, with a passion for making employee and manager processes simple, intuitive, and useful.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to use adoption data, feedback, and operational metrics to make product decisions.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, and influencing skills.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity, balancing competing priorities, and making practical tradeoff decisions.
- Experience supporting change management, training, communications, or adoption for a new HR or employee-facing technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Betterworks or another performance management platform.
- Experience with Workday or other HRIS platforms, especially related to talent, performance, or employee data.
- Experience supporting a large-scale performance management transformation.
- Familiarity with agile product practices, design thinking, journey mapping, or human-centered design.
- Experience working with HR, Talent, People Technology, or employee experience teams in a complex organization.
- Certifications in product management, project management, change management, HR technology, or talent/performance management.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role's base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
