The Smart Mobility Practice is seeking a Public Involvement Coordinator in Salt Lake City, UT.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to use and expand their skillset and experience in public outreach, project coordination, business development, and communication techniques.

What You'll Do Key Responsibilities:
  • Support day-to-day operations for assigned public involvement projects.
  • Support the development of effective public outreach strategies for high profile transportation projects.
  • Create, edit, and produce public involvement documents.
  • Monitor and respond to public inquires via public hotlines and emails accounts.
  • Organize events including open houses, workshops, public hearings, neighborhood meetings, ground breakings, ribbon cuttings, workshops, one-on-one meetings and other public events.
  • Produce and maintain stakeholder databases.
  • Develop public outreach materials and coordinate distribution among project team members, stakeholders, and client as needed.
  • Interact with the public utilizing a wide range of traditional and innovative communication methods.
  • Act as a liaison between technical project team members and the public.
  • Prepare, compose, and maintain letters, documents, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required by DEA and our clients.
What You Bring Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications or Transportation Planning, or 5+ years of administrative experience with an engineering firm
  • Strong writing and public speaking skills
  • Maintain reliable transportation for travel
  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed

* The posted salary range represents the typical range for this position and is provided in accordance with applicable state and local pay transparency laws. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and geographic location.

Physical Requirements & Occasional Work Environments:
  • Occasionally work in various positions to complete tasks in different environments, including tight or confined spaces.
  • Occasionally adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
  • Occasionally operate a motor vehicle, and, when required, heavy equipment.
  • Occasional exposure to low temperatures or high temperatures.
  • Occasionally work in outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
  • Occasionally work in noisy environments.
