Description
At NMG Aerospace our Deburr Technician is responsible for filing, sands, or shapes machined products using hand tools and power tools, to remove all burrs, tool marks, and to break all sharp edges. May use manual machines or drills to correct small deficiencies. Reads and interprets work orders and related documentation to determine method and sequence of operations and finish specifications. Completes work on parts that require special attention to detail. Shift hours are 5:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday - Thursday Essential Job Functions:
- Manually deburring machined products using a variety of powered hand tools
- File and sands surfaces of machined products, utilizing a variety of hand tools.
- Use and maintenance of Tumblers
- Wash all parts that have gone through deburring process
- Inspects surface finishes, threads, and broken edges of final product to ensure compliance with blueprint and work order.
- Remove defects and smooth uneven surfaces
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and other job-related documentation.
- Visually inspect final product to ensure compliance with blueprint and work order.
- Count and secure parts for shipment.
- Works very close with Quality Control (Q.C.), Technician, and Supervisor on special need projects.
- Epicor Data Transactions
- Use calipers, micrometers and other various measurement equipment.
Additional Duties:
- Properly Identifies material.
- Provide support for Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, companywide.
- Other duties, reporting, special assignments, or projects as needed and assigned.
- Must remain current with, and complete all required training as assigned.
- Must adhere to Company Corporate EHS Policy and department, occupation, and task specific safety protocols, including but not limited to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience manually deburring machined parts required.
- Use of precision hand and power tools required
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints
- Good hand-eye coordination.
- Able to sit and work on same part/product for extended periods
- Goal-oriented, team player able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong mechanical skills and good sense of workmanship.
- Able to work under time sensitive deadlines.
- Must submit to and satisfactorily pass any pre-employment screening required for employment with the Company.
- Must take medical exams required by law, in conjunction with occupation specific activities, the physical work environment, and ongoing industrial hygiene sampling results.
- Depending on assignment, may be required to use stairs, remain upright and/or seated for prolonged timeframes, intermittently reposition the body per various tasks performed, and use various tools and work-related supplies.
- May be required to perform manual lifting activities, not to exceed a 40lb lift performed by one individual.
Education:
- High School diploma or GED
