Job Purpose

National Grid is implementing a DERMS (Distributed Energy Resource Management System) to improve how customer-owned resources, such as solar generation and energy storage, connect to and support the electric network.

This position will be responsible for establishing and operating the Program Management Office (PMO) for the DERMS Program. This role provides centralized governance, coordination, reporting, and delivery oversight to ensure the program is executed effectively, transparently, and in alignment with defined objectives, budget, and timelines. The PMO Lead ensures cohesive programlevel visibility across all projects and workstreams and enables informed decisionmaking by program leadership. The PMO will assemble project details from each Project Manager for cohesive Program visibility.

To establish and manage the Project Management Office (PMO) for the DERMS Program, ensuring successful execution, governance, risk management, and delivery of program objectives. The PMO will provide strategic oversight, coordination, reporting, and support to ensure the program stays on track, within budget, and meets its goals. The PMO will oversee the following aspects of the DERMS Program:

Key Accountabilities
  • Program Governance: Establish and maintain program governance structures, including decision-making frameworks, escalation paths, and regular reporting. Establishing governance frameworks for decision-making, issue resolution, and continuous improvement, defining Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for ongoing service delivery and creating escalation paths for service issues or process breakdowns.
  • Project Planning: Coordinate project plans, timelines, and dependencies across different workstreams.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Identify, track, and manage risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Resource Management: Ensure the availability and allocation of resources (budget, personnel, tools) across the program.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor the quality of deliverables and adherence to project objectives and timelines.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular updates to key stakeholders, including status reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.
  • Change Management: Support the program with structured change management processes to ensure a smooth transition to new DERMS processes and systems.
  • Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, cost tracking, and financial forecasting for the program.
  • Training and Knowledge Management: Ensure that program knowledge is documented and transferred effectively within the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or 5+ years' relevant and progressive experience required.
  • Strong project management, time management, and problem-solving skills, PMP preferred.
  • Effective collaboration and partnership capabilities.
  • Background in utility service business activities and projects preferred.
  • Electrical engineering background in utility industry preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.

MA: $142,000.00 - $166,000.00 USD annually

Upstate NY: $126,000.00 - $148,000.00 USD annually

Downstate NY: $152,000.00 - $178,000.00 USD annually
