About the Job:
The candidate will be funded as part of a large, multi-institutional research team to generate, validate, and distribute preclinical mouse models tailored to accelerate validation and therapeutic R&D for emerging gene/protein targets relevant to Parkinson's disease (PD). The candidate will devote their research efforts to ensuring that the goals of this PD modeling project are achieved and to assisting with the day-to-day coordination of all team efforts. The candidate should work towards developing aspects of the program clearly identified with them, in which they can assume a programmatic leadership role.

Work Arrangement: select one below
*The position is expected to work primarily on-site. Your work location will be the Molecular and Cellular Biology building.

Responsibilities:

75% Laboratory research
*Specific research goals for this position will be tailored to the skills/experience of the candidate. These goals will include some combination of:
*Implementing and improving efficient genome engineering approaches
*Generating novel mouse lines with precisely engineered genomic modifications
*Determining the molecular impacts of genetic variants that confer increased risk for PD

25% Reporting and coordination
*Compiling and writing research and scientific reports
*Coordinating efforts of the larger team to achieve the goals of the preclinical modeling project

All required qualifications must be documented on application materials.
Required Qualifications:
*Candidates must have a PhD and/or MD degree
*Demonstrated research experience in molecular biology and/or molecular cell biology
*Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
*Strong organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:
*Direct experience with genomic engineering approaches, mammalian tissue culture techniques, and/or analyzing complex cellular pathways
*Track record of productivity demonstrated by first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $63,480 - 77,076.00; depending on education/qualifications/experience
