Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to support and lead key payroll functions for a multi-state, construction-focused workforce. This role will partner closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure accurate payroll processing, certified payroll compliance, union reporting, and payroll issue resolution. The position offers a clear path toward future leadership and payroll management opportunities.

Key Responsibilities



  • Process weekly and biweekly payroll accurately and on time.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations and company policies.
  • Assist with certified payroll reporting and union payroll reporting.
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
  • Serve as a liaison between employees, field operations, union representatives, and accounting.
  • Support payroll audits, reconciliations, and process improvements.
  • Assist the Payroll Manager with special projects and departmental initiatives.
  • Provide backup support for accounting and payroll functions as needed.



Qualifications



  • 3+ years of payroll experience required.
  • Construction, union payroll, and/or certified payroll experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and payroll systems.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential and interest in growing into a management role.
