Project Manager - Medical Device Sustaining Projects

Location: Carlsbad, CA

Schedule: On-site, 5 days per week

Pay Rate: $69.50/hour

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support sustaining projects for innovative medical device products used in the treatment of coronary and peripheral artery disease. This role will lead cross-functional initiatives throughout the product lifecycle, including process improvements, design changes, manufacturing transfers, and business continuity projects.

Key Responsibilities



  • Manage medical device sustaining projects from product launch through end-of-life.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource forecasts.
  • Lead project governance, risk management, stakeholder communication, and execution tracking.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, and operations.
  • Facilitate decision-making through data analysis, risk assessment, and strategic recommendations.
  • Prepare project dashboards, status reports, and leadership updates.
  • Support regulatory submission planning and project prioritization activities.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks while driving successful project outcomes.



Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 6+ years of Project Management experience within the medical device industry.
  • Proven success leading cross-functional teams through design control processes and product lifecycle management.
  • Strong business acumen, organizational skills, and leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present to senior leadership.



Preferred Qualifications



  • PMP certification.
  • MBA or Master's degree.
  • Experience in manufacturing, quality engineering, or production environments.
  • Proficiency with MS Project and Office Timeline.
  • Experience with disposable and capital equipment/system product development projects.
