Job Summary
In this role on the Colorado River Aqueduct Program Management (PM) Team, you will be responsible for managing multiple capital and/or Operations & Maintenance (O&M) projects with specific emphasis within the electrical discipline; providing project management expertise on engineering projects; and ensuring that engineering service meets Metropolitan's standards of quality, efficiency, and technical integrity.

What You'll Do

    Lead Capital Projects: Lead project teams in the day-to-day management of all Capital infrastructure project activities with specific emphasis within the electrical discipline, from planning and scoping studies to final completion.
  • Project Funding & Authorizations: Obtain the project funding and authorizations through the Board letter/Board process, including making presentations to the Board.
  • Manage Project Delivery: Closely monitor and control project scope, progress, schedules, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner across diverse internal teams-including Conveyance & Distribution (C&D), Integrated Operations Support Services (IOPSS), Safety, Security & Protection, Treatment & Water Quality, Information Technology (IT), and Water Resources Management (WRM)-to align project goals and operational needs.
  • Environmental & Compliance Documentation: Identify and coordinate environmental assessments, review environmental reports, and maintain documentation.
  • Utilize Project Management Systems: Leverage Microsoft Project, Office applications, and the Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) system to track, update, and report on project metrics

Schedule: 9/80, Monday through Friday, Every other Friday off; or 4/10 four (4) consecutive ten-hour days, Monday through Thursday

Hybrid: Metropolitan's current practice in this position is a hybrid work schedule. This typically includes two days a week in person and the other days remote. This is subject to change dependent on organizational needs. In addition, a telework policy is scheduled for negotiations and once completed and implemented, will provide final direction on the hybrid schedule.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and six years of relevant experience, of which two years must have been at the Associate Engineer level; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years of relevant experience, of which two years must have been at the Associate Engineer level.

Relevant Experience is defined as: experience managing capital projects, leading multidiscipline project teams, preparation of technical reports and correspondence, experience in design, construction, or project management with facility upgrades, repairs, and rehabilitations.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s):
Valid California Class C Driver's License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
License in good standing as a California Professional Engineer
